Oregon Registry Trainer Program Evaluation Summary - June 2009

The Oregon Registry Trainer Program offers voluntary certification for trainers and adult educators in the childhood care and education profession. The Oregon Registry Trainer Program also offers support for trainers and adult educators as they enhance their adult education knowledge and skills and develop high quality community-based training sessions.

The Oregon Registry Trainer Program includes three types of certified trainers:

  • Standardized Trainers
  • Community Trainers
  • Master Trainers

Trainers are qualified through their experience as trainers, their experience in the field, and their education in the field. Community trainers and Master trainers must complete an Oregon Registry Trainer Program Orientation. For a complete list of certified trainers, please download a copy of the current Trainer List.

The Oregon Registry Trainer Program includes three types of certified community-based training sessions:

  • Standardized Training Sessions
  • Community Training Sessions
  • Master Training Sessions

Oregon Registry Training Sessions reflect standards at three different levels of depth and complexity: beginning knowledge; intermediate knowledge; and advanced knowledge. By following standards in the Core Body of Knowledge, Oregon Registry Trainers are able to offer high quality learning experiences for professional development connected to the Oregon Registry Steps.

Sponsoring Organizations

The Oregon Registry Trainer Program partners with registered Sponsoring Organizations that provide, coordinate, or facilitate community based training sessions for professionals in the field of childhood care and education. Sponsoring Organizations include resource and referral programs, professional organizations, Head Start programs, and child care training programs. Sponsoring Organizations support the use of certified Oregon Registry Trainers and also can benefit from the use of trainers who are not certified in the Oregon Registry Trainer program.
